The kids are in the waves. Someone is getting a piggyback ride. Mom and Dad are laughing at something only they understand. I’m moving constantly, looking for the light, the angle, the frame that tells the truest story.

As the sun drops toward the horizon, we shift to the more intentional portraits, the ones that will be printed large and hung on walls. The whole family together in that extraordinary light. These shots don’t require effort or performance. The light and the location do everything, I just have to be ready.
