Tidy, Don’t Sterilize

Pick up the obvious clutter dishes in the sink, laundry on the floor, the explosion of toys that happened this morning. But don’t strip the home of its personality. The stack of books on the coffee table can stay. The kids’ drawings on the fridge can absolutely stay. The family photos on the wall are perfect. We want your home to look like you live there because you do, and that’s the whole point.

Pay Attention to Natural Light

Light is everything in in home photography. Walk through your home on a morning or afternoon similar to when your session is scheduled, and notice which rooms have the best natural light. South and west-facing rooms tend to be beautiful in the afternoon. East-facing rooms are gorgeous in the morning.
