Can you even handle these?!

I am head over heels for this bohemian, adorable cake smash session. I have to give mom the credit for this setup, since she tracked down this crushed velvet outfit, and the bohemian cake topper, as well as making that incredible cake HERSELF (go mom!). The vision was hers, but the pleasure was all mine, and I could not get enough of this darling sweetheart on her very first birthday.

Cake smashes are a great way to mark a birthday, whether it’s a first birthday, or a darling toddler. It’s more traditional for a one-year-old, since they’ve digging into the cake. It’s also a perfect way to keep them occupied since they love the texture and feel of the cake and frosting. When planning a cake smash session, remember to put your baby in an outfit that you don’t mind getting a little bit of cake on it; I always try to shoot a few before they really get into the frosting, so that you have both types of photos (clean outfit ones and the really fun ones!). Of course, everything is washable 🙂 It’s another reason why having a professional take your cake smash photos is a great idea, because it’s all contained in our natural light studio!

Whether you want a boho, rustic theme like this one, or you have something else in mind, I can’t wait to meet your darling babe!
