This was a pretty dreamy session. First of all, this mother and daughter are just stunningly beautiful. It felt a little bit like cheating, because I don’t think it would have been possible to get a bad photo! But, they gave me free creative reign, and it was a treat to get to be their portrait photographer. We worked with their flowy white dresses and a brown backdrop, which created an intimate, earthy feel, which I loved! Then, we pulled out their black outfits, and did a black-on-black theme, which created truly striking black and white images with high contrast and lots of emotions. Lastly, mom and daughter put on oversized men’s shirts and it created a fun, laid-back “hanging out on a Sunday, watching movies” vibe. Most of all, we had tons of fun.
Maybe you’re a mama who doesn’t want to be in front of the camera. I get it, it’s hard to get past our own insecurities and get into the photos, but I love seeing moms who make it a priority to capture portraits with their children. It’s something special to have fine art portraits that will last for a lifetime, and be handed down to the next generation, AND a photo session can create a special memory that also will live in your hearts and minds. I loved my day with these lovely ladies, and hope their close bond lasts for all their lives!
