Let me tell you, I looked all over Long Island looking for a free-to-the-public place with those beautiful blooming spring trees.  No luck.  Everything was behind a paywall.  So at the last minute we decided to go for Planting Fields Arboretum.  And you know what? It was the right decision.  That place is stinking gorgeous and has such a vast array of manicured and natural flora that you can get lost in there, taking pictures for days.

They also had the elusive blooming trees that we had our hearts set on. Now typically I like to plan my portrait sessions closer to sunset when the sun is lower in the sky and the light is softer, but Planting Fields closes at 5.  But there was plenty of shady spots that allowed us to create all these great photos.  And these two adorable little girls brought the fun. They were up for anything and we really had a great time checking out all the cool spots, goofing around with mom and dad.  A total success for everyone!
