Now that I’ve been a professional photographer for quite some time (six years, to be exact), I find that these days, I get more opportunities to flex my creative muscles. Especially when families come to me for years, I always get the feeling to “top” each session, every year! I’ve gotten to photograph this family not two, not three, but four times now. Each time, mom and I dream up ways to do something new and creative to set it apart each year. Everyone needs a stunning beach session, or a beautiful fall foliage scene, but then, it’s time to get creative!
So, when it came time to do a family session, I knew sports would be something just right. These kids are so athletic, and they both play several sports, including Gaelic Football. You know you’re sporty when you play a sport most people haven’t even heard of (it’s a team sport with Irish descent, by the way, played on a rectangular pitch and with a round ball). So, when we began thinking up what we may do, we came up with a baseball theme because it is so classic, All-American, and fits the active personalities of these boys. Baseball really is a great American sport loved by all, the Dad was saying how afterward he was going to be putting a little bet online at FanDuel hoping that this photography shoot will give him some luck! Okay, prepare yourself, because here come the puns…
We knocked this session out of the park! It was a total home run! We are batting 1.000! See what I did there? I’m punny. 😉
