I got a call recently from a fellow photographer; a friend of mine who wanted me to do some family portraits for them. Their gorgeous family had some black-tie outfits for a special occasion that was unfortunately cancelled, so they were inspired to use them for some beach photos, instead. As soon as she suggested the idea, I knew just the spot on the beach. I loved how mom’s dress reflects the color of the sand, and how the black suits make her handsome boys stand out against the beach setting. It’s unexpected and fresh, and a cool take on the beach location.
In this day and age, there aren’t many “new ideas”. Pinterest and Instagram have just about every idea under the sun, but no matter what location or idea I use for a session, they are all different because every family has their own vibe and personality. This gorgeous trio was so much fun to work with, and the light couldn’t have been more stunning. I hope they loved using these special outfits to create a brand-new memory!
