I like creating portraits in a few different lighting situations. Sometimes, I have control over the light but often I don’t. This is why when you call to book your session, I am very deliberate about what time of day we meet, in order to maximize our time together. This session for instance, was scheduled in the afternoon late into fall at trusty Hempstead Lake State Park. This is one of my favorite times of year/day to make portraits because I freaking love the look of sunlight that comes from south in the sky this time of year, especially when it filters through the trees to create a brighter feel. This family was so beautiful and their outfits were just right for our outdoor session. I loved mom’s cute dress and their neutral coordinating pieces.
When you book with me, you are booking with an experienced photographer. Yes, I am always trying to hone my craft and learn and grow, but I have done many shoots and learned over the years what things work (and what doesn’t!). This means that you can arrive at your family or couples session with confidence that I will guide you through the process. You won’t have to stress about the photos being blurry or the wrong style. Instead, you can focus on what really matters: your loved ones and the moments you want to capture. As you can see below, this family was all smiles, and I was able to photograph their authentic laughter and smiles. I find that photoshoots go much better when the clients know what’s in store for them. From the moment you book with us, you can feel at ease!
