The teen years: society likes to tell us that its marked by angst and teenage drama, but if you know me, you know I LOVE this age group! I think they’re filled with so much promise and hope for the future, and they have energy that frankly, makes me a bit jealous 🙂 Girls are an obvious fit for a teenage, contemporary photoshoot, but who says guys can’t have some great studio portraits as well? I think everyone loves a confidence boost, and that means thirteen year old guys, too! Let’s be honest, the photos of me at age 13 are a bit embarrassing; my kids love to poke fun at me when they page through old albums. What I wouldn’t give for a legacy portrait that would make me feel proud and nostalgic! Maybe that’s why I love this age group so much, and why I love handing these priceless images over to them when their photos are done.

This young man must have skipped the awkward, lanky years, because he was all confidence and cool. He had great style, and also a sweet and powerful personality. I loved every outfit he brought, as they were a mix of casual and dressy, and I got to utilize my beloved studio. I truly hope that these portraits find their way into family albums and heirloom books to be loved for years to come. I hope he is able to look back on them with pride and a memory of the excitement-filled years of being a teen.
