Thirteen is such a fascination age. I understand why it’s such a celebrate time in a young girl’s life. It marks the time when they are becoming young women…innocent and yet, finding their way in the world a little bit at a time. They want to be taken care of, and also experience a little bit of life on their own terms. It’s pretty exciting as a teenager, but also a little frightening as a parent! We have to let them go out into the world without us??! Oh, me!
This young lady is right there; at the precipice of being a young woman, and just finishing up being a little girl. So, that’s what we wanted to capture in this natural light studio session. I love getting teens in the studio, as you know, because they just totally come to life! I try to get them to smile, dance, and move, because that adds dimension to the session. After all, we are there to celebrate a milestone, even if it’s just having a really great day!
