Many special days involve generations of family members, but especially Bar Mitzvahs. As I have gotten to photograph more and more of these incredibly exciting and emotional days, I have seen so many families come together to celebrate. It’s a special moment for the whole family, and it is a generational tradition…many times, it carries from the grandparents and great-grandparents, all the way to the mitzvah child. It’s not only a time to celebrate the coming-of-age, but also to shower him or her with love and admiration. It’s a day rich with family and Jewish ancestry, and I’m sure many older family members look back on their own Bar or Bat Mitzvah’s with fondness.
The Loft at Bridgeview was a great place for a party and a dream for photos! Inside the venue, it features a modern, rustic industrial look and outside, it has great views of under the bridge, complete with really cool graffiti. It also features plenty of waterfront views, and can hold up to 150 guests for formal events. We captured some amazing images of this young man and his family that will remind them of this special day for years to come. I feel so lucky every time a family books me for one of these ceremonial days. I think they will be so grateful for generations to come, that they invested in portraits.
