Yes, it is communion season here on Long Island, and it’s become one of my most cherished parts of the year. Like a wedding or other special event, first communions are an incredible way to gather family and friends and to celebrate the occasion. A first communion is a lovely way to mark a milestone in the faith and life of a young person, and it’s a lasting tradition that many families observe. On top of being able to enjoy the company of these delightful young people, I also get to partake in the joy that their families experience. Who could pass up getting to document the prettiest, elegant white dresses or little suits? Not this girl.

We held this portrait session at St. Anthony’s in Oceanside.  The light coming through the antique windows is divine and illuminated my sweet friend in the most stunning way.  She truly looks like the angel that she is. I loved the traditional, classic styling of her dress, and her intricate headpiece. If you’re wondering where to start when thinking of your communion session, start by giving me a call! I can walk you through the steps of choosing a location, a dress, and deciding who should be photographed. I have done many sessions outside and in natural light, and many that are more traditional in the place of worship. I’d love to celebrate this amazing milestone with your family!
